Juice Article:
Why Do We Remove Fiber from Our Juice? Juices from which fiber has been removed furnish (without interference) every particle of nourishment contained in the vegetable for immediate and quick assimilation by the body.
To convert vegetables into liquid or semi-liquid without eliminating the cellulose fiber, is of little value from the point of view of juicing. The very purpose of drinking juices is to enable the body to assimilate all of the vital elements contained in the vegetables or fruits in the quickest possible time and manner without burdening the digestive organs in any way with the work entailed by the presence of pulp-cellulose.
Drinking juices which are properly made will enable the body to assimilate them within ten to fifteen minutes. Juices still containing pulp will require hours to digest, and will tax the digestive organs more than eating and properly masticating the foods themselves. When cellulose fiber is present, proper salivating and thorough masticating is essential to complete digestion. -- From: "Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices” by N.W. Walker, D. Sc. Environmental toxins accumulate in the fiber of the vegetables, while the juice repels them, notes Dr. Wallker.
RAW FOODS ARE BEST
"Raw foods have an enormous potential for improving not only a person's appearance but quality of life. Two weeks on a raw diet makes a person look YEARS YOUNGER, with softer facial lines; and skin, eyes, and hair that glow with vibrant health. Two years on a diet high in raw foods can completely TRANSFORM a person's shape and often can restore health as well. If that's not enough to get you excited about raw foods, we guess you probably just don't get excited." (Quoted from Leslie and Susannah Kenton, in Raw Energy.) Drinking the JUICE of raw fruits and vegetables is an effective way of adding raw foods to your diet. You can't eat 5 lbs. of carrots, but you can easily drink their nutritional equivalent in a delicious glass of juice!
